How it Works
- There are 2 pieces. A blue light source and an orange plastic filter. Your gel gets sandwiched between the blue light source on bottom, and the orange blue filter on top
- The blue light illuminates the gel, causing your SYBR safe, Gel Green, or other blue light dye to fluoresce. But it's difficult to see that fluorescence because the blue light behind it is so bright
- The orange filter blocks out most of the blue light coming from the LED illuminator. What's left is the fluorescence from your DNA bands
